MEETING MINUTES
Below are the most recent fund raising Committee Meeting minutes:
In attendance: Mike Eisner, Dan Gaddis, Rick Hoff, Ingmar Lauringson, Guy Murray, Cliff Trotter, Carlos and Sherry Vivas
Meeting called to order at 2:00 and Mike gave an overview of the committees’ responsibility. The goal of the committee is to raise $200,000.00 for the campaign.
Fund raising ideas were discussed and the following were suggested:
Dan Gaddis- A tiered giving/donation program
Carlos and Sherry- Car shows
Various- Golf tournaments and reverse drawings
Who to contact for funds:
Businesses
Builders/Developers
Greenhouses
Golf Courses
Conoco-Phillips
County Supervisor for discretionary funds
Residents through above fund raisers
At the suggestion of Cliff Trotter, the committee explored reasons for incorporation other than, “control our own destiny”. The following were given as additional reasons for incorporation:
1. Keep tax money local
2. Control over community (funds, property tax revenue and growth)
3. Efficient form of government maintained locally. (With local control, what would have been the progress of Von’s, CVS, Willow Rd., Mary Ave., etc?)
Mike requested suggestions for additional members for the committee. The following names were discussed: Marianne Buckmeyer, Jesse Hill, Mary Wheeler, Mike Winn and Mary Woodson. Mike agreed to contact these people.
The next meeting of the committee will be August 15, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. The location will be determined. The committee is urged to bring others to the meeting that might have an interest in working on the Fund raising committee…
